Big Garden Bird watch

Park View 4U  are taking part in the Big Garden Watch this Saturday, we have joined forces with the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside, who run a wildlife watch club from the park on the last Saturday of every month. The club is aimed at children age 8 – 13 but younger children can attend with their parents.

The Big Garden Birdwatch runs for 2 weeks starting from January 16^th. Children and adults need to spend an hour looking at birds in their garden, school grounds or park and make a note of what they see.  They can then enter this information on the RSPB website which has been collecting these figures for 30 years.  It helps them spot
trends of declining and increasing bird species across the UK.
The watch club activities will take place from 10 -12am, Saturday 28^th January. At Park View Playing Fields, Lytham. Suitable clothing is essential
Julie Norman Watch Club manager explained “We can supply some binoculars if children or families wish to join in or you can bring your own. We will also be making pine cone bird feeders to take home as it is vital to feed the birds at this time of year, especially with the recent cold weather”
