Here is what the Big Lottery had to say

“Big Lottery support for Lytham Project”

An innovative project giving youngsters a safe place to meet, enjoy exciting activities and access key services is awarded close to half a million pounds by the Big Lottery Fund (BIG).The money is from BIG’s Reaching Communities programme that supports people most in need and helps build stronger communities.Launched by Park View 4U, TheCore Project will provide a vital lifeline for local young people to get together with their peers and enjoy a range of new activities.Based at the Park View Playing Fields community centre in Lytham, the Core project will be designed by young people for young people with creative activities such as documentary film making around the local area, capturing the history of former generations, or organised graffiti painting sessions in the park.  The scheme will also work with the local Primary Care Trust to devise fun activities providing vital information on drugs, obesity, sexual health and teenage pregnancy.Community Centre Development Manager , Catherine Powell said, “We are absolutely delighted that our Reaching Communities bid has been successful. This funding will enable “The Core Project” to take place, which will make so much difference to our community, particularly the young people who have wanted an indoor facility from day one.The funding will also provide a much needed community café operated as a Social Enterprise and, enable a variety of new programs and initiatives to be delivered to the whole community. The Core Project will engage with young people in a place that is familiar to them, helping to address some of the problems they face growing up in today’s society. “ celebrate
