2012 Logo Competition, and the winner is…
We are delighted to announce that the winner of our 2012 Lytham logo competition
is 14 year old Katy Gittins from Lytham St.Anne’s High School
Park View 4U organised the competition in conjunction with Lytham Club Day and the Lytham St.Annes .The aim of the competition was to design a logo for the Park’s lamppost banners and the town’s new bunting. The competition was funded through the Open for All program run by Lancashire County Council’s economic development department, Lancashire County Developments Ltd in Partnership with Fylde’s Local Strategic Partnership.
The competition saw a huge number of entries as Park View 4U Trustee Heather Nelson explained “The judges had a very difficult task, the standard of entries was extremely high, but in the end there could only be one winner and Katy’s design had all the right elements, it was simple but eye catching”
All the finalist will be on display in the new Community Centre at Park View, where some community art sessions will also be held.
As well as seeing her design gracing the streets of Lytham, Katy will also receive the Wallbank Trophy on Club Day in Lowther Gardens.

Help put the ‘finishing touches’ to Park View 4 U Community Centre and Café
Can you spare a few minutes to watch this
As you may know through walking in the park or driving down Park View Road, we are very near to completing the Park View 4U Community Centre and Café. This has been years in the planning and fund raising and months in the construction.
We are nearly there!
We have identified a few areas where we could really do with some in help in putting the finishing touches to the overall build. We know from the number of followers on Facebook and Twitter that there are some real experts out there and we are always contacted by people and businesses asking how they can help out.
Well here is how!
We have a list of areas where we just need that little bit of expertise, help or a donation towards the finishing touches.

Big Garden Bird watch
Park View 4U are taking part in the Big Garden Watch this Saturday, we have joined forces with the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside, who run a wildlife watch club from the park on the last Saturday of every month. The club is aimed at children age 8 – 13 but younger children can attend with their parents.
The Big Garden Birdwatch runs for 2 weeks starting from January 16th. Children and adults need to spend an hour looking at birds in their garden, school grounds or park and make a note of what they see. They can then enter this information on the RSPB website which has been collecting these figures for 30 years. It helps them spot
trends of declining and increasing bird species across the UK.
The watch club activities will take place from 10 -12am, Saturday 28th January. At Park View Playing Fields, Lytham. Suitable clothing is essential
Julie Norman Watch Club manager explained “We can supply some binoculars if children or families wish to join in or you can bring your own. We will also be making pine cone bird feeders to take home as it is vital to feed the birds at this time of year, especially with the recent cold weather”
